There are hotels that provide a place sleep and then there are hotels that are a destination in their own right. Perched on a private peninsula along the Athenian riviera, The four Seasons Astir Palace Athens proves that luxury is not measured by the length that you stay but by the quality of experience you get.

Just 30 minutes from the centre city of bustling Athens you'll find The four Seasons Astir Palace on the coast in Vouliagmeni. From the moment we arrived, the four seasons we were met with a very polished yet genuinely warm service that has become synonymous with the brand. From the moment we stepped foot inside we quickly switched into holiday. The atmosphere is sophisticated but not formal, it attracts a variety of people from couples to families, all get something from their stay.

Our room was stunning, perfectly captured the essence of the brand, with floor to ceiling windows of sea views .  The spacious balcony quickly became our favourite spot, offering the perfect setting to enjoy a glass of wine as the sun dipped and watching the infamous Greek sunsets. The rooms are perfect blend of " Greek elegance with modern comfort, featuring private balconies with sweeping pine grove or Aegean Sea views. Select suites and bungalows also offer private infinity pools and direct beach access".

One of the greatest luxuries of staying here is having access to several private beaches. We spent the afternoon moving between the beach and the beautifully designed infinity pools, Despite the resort's popularity, it never felt crowded. There was always a quiet spot to be found.

Dining is another highlight. The Four Seasons has nine exceptional restaurants, each offering a distinct culinary experience. Fresh seafood, locally sourced ingredients and contemporary Mediterranean flavours dominate the menus, celebrating the very best of Greek cuisine with international flair. Breakfast the following morning was equally memorable, with an impressive spread of seasonal fruit, freshly baked pastries, made-to-order eggs and authentic Greek specialities enjoyed against the backdrop of the spectacular coastline.

The resort's world-class spa deserves special mention. Inspired by ancient healing traditions, it offers an extensive menu of treatments designed to restore both body and mind. Even if time only allows for a visit to the relaxation facilities, the peaceful surroundings and calming atmosphere provide a welcome escape from everyday life.

While it would be easy never to leave the property, the hotel's location also makes it an excellent base for exploring the Athens Riviera. The charming village of Vouliagmeni is just moments away, offering stylish cafés, waterfront restaurants, beach clubs and boutique shopping, while Athens' iconic Acropolis and historic neighbourhoods remain within easy reach for those wishing to combine culture with coastal luxury.

What truly sets The Four Seasons Astir Palace Athens apart is its ability to balance grandeur with intimacy. Every interaction feels personal, every space has been thoughtfully designed, and the created atmosphere encourages you to slow down. Whether watching yachts drift across the bay, enjoying an evening cocktail overlooking the sea or simply relaxing with a book on your balcony, there is an unmistakable sense of calm that is increasingly rare to find.

One night may not seem enough, but the Four Seasons Astir Palace Athens proves that luxury is measured not by the length of your stay, but by the memories you take home. It is a resort that effortlessly captures the glamour of the Athens Riviera while delivering the exceptional hospitality for which Four Seasons is renowned. If you're planning a city break to Athens, extending your itinerary with even a single night here transforms the experience into something truly unforgettable.
