Exciting New Additions to Wander Wild Festival!

Wander Wild Festival, one of Ireland’s leading outdoor, culture and wellness festival, has unveiled over 40 brand-new events, expanding its 2026 programme to more than 160 immersive experiences. Taking place from 17–19th April in the breathtaking 26,000-acre UNESCO-protected Killarney National Park, the festival invites adventurers, creatives, and curious minds to design their own unforgettable weekend in the outdoors.
This latest wave of announcements brings a powerful mix of mountain adventures, intimate performances, inspiring talks, and restorative wellness, to the festival that is rooted in nature, movement, and community.
Among the newly announced events are the Social Summit of Mangerton with Tadgh O’Brien, and a special screening of Ellie Berry’s short film, documenting her extraordinary world record achievement of climbing all 275 Irish mountains over 600m. Adventure-seekers can take part in a mountain scrambling masterclass on some of Ireland’s most challenging ridges,a trail-running masterclass with Irish International Trail Runner Matthew McConnell, explore wild hidden mountain valleys (The Horses Glen) with Killian Buckley, or greet the day on a Dawn Chorus Walk, tuning into the park’s natural symphony.
Nature and heritage come together through a Monastic Ruins, Temperate Woodlands and Waterfalls experience, wild-food foraging walk and workshop, and immersive guided hikes that reveal Killarney’s lesser-known landscapes.
Culture and connection sit at the heart of Wander Wild. New additions include, Echoes of Earth and Water combining a boat journey with a guided walk, a collaboration with TAWLA Collective: Supper & Stories - an intimate, story-led dining experience inspired by the flavours of Palestine, Egypt, and Lebanon, the Mrs Mind Watcher Reset workshop for anyone craving clarity without pressure, and an intimate cacao ceremony focused on intention-setting and reflection.

As evening falls, Kean Kavanagh will light up St Mary’s Church with his Irish Indie Rock concert. Enjoy some Fireside Chats where stories of resilience, exploration, culture, and connection will be shared. These include Chris Barrett (From the Arctic to the Amazon), members of the How to Gael trio, WestWords: Poetry & Spoken Word, Seanchoíche, Focal & Fód, exploring Irish language and art and more.
Families are also at the forefront of this year’s programme, with an expanded ‘Wildlings’ family schedule featuring, How Stories Are Born: A Family Folklore Walk with Children’s Author Barry Coleman, Yoga Óige, Parent & Child Soundbath, nature-themed LEGO workshops, Autism-friendly walks, and the return of favourites such as Gruffalo adventure hunts, family orienteering, and a Kids Balance Bike Workshop.
The new events are in addition to over 120 other programmed events taking place over the 3-day festival weekend that will cater for all ages and abilities. Many of the festival favourites return this year including, a Dark Sky Hike in one of the world's best stargazing spots Guided hikes for all levels taking in the MacGillycuddy Reeks, The Lost Sky Train site, and the Coomloughra Horseshoe; Kayak and Boat Tours on the lake, Rave ar Róthar, a group cycling ‘disco on wheels’; Sunrise Dips and unique Lakeside Sauna experience at Dundag Guided Bat Walk, Stand Up Paddleboarding, rock climbing, a host of therapeutic wellness activities, workshops, stalls, and entertainment at Basecamp in the town centre.
Organisers offer a low impact eco-friendly weekend, aligning the festival's ethos with the natural beauty of Killarney's outdoors. Attendees are invited to opt for eco-conscious travel and sustainable accommodation to reduce the festival’s footprint.
