Atlas Ocean Voyages Unveils 128-Night Grand Odyssey Expedition for 2028

Atlas Ocean Voyages has unveiled Extraordinary Expeditions, a new collection of extended luxury expedition cruises aboard Atlas Adventurer, its new sailing yacht set to debut in November 2028.
The collection will include voyages ranging from eight to 128 nights, taking travellers through some of the world's most remote and culturally rich destinations across Asia, the Indian Ocean and Africa.
The headline itinerary, the 128-night Grand Odyssey Expedition, will depart Kobe, Japan, on 30 November 2028 before sailing to Cape Town, South Africa.
128-Night Grand Odyssey Expedition
The Grand Odyssey Expedition will take guests on an extensive journey through Asia, the Indian Ocean and Africa, visiting destinations across Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and the Seychelles.
The voyage will then continue towards Africa, with calls in Madagascar, Tanzania, Kenya, Mozambique and South Africa.
Designed around slower, more immersive exploration, the itinerary includes extended stays and multiple calls at destinations including Hong Kong, Singapore, Bali, Ho Chi Minh City and the Seychelles.
The 128-night cruise will offer travellers the opportunity to experience a broad selection of destinations in a single extended expedition, with a particular focus on cultural discovery and time spent ashore.
Atlas Adventurer to Debut in 2028
The Extraordinary Expeditions collection will sail aboard Atlas Adventurer, a 26,000-gross-tonne luxury expedition sailing yacht scheduled to make its debut in November 2028.
Measuring 690 feet in length, the yacht will accommodate up to 400 guests, supported by a crew of 275.
Atlas Adventurer will feature all-suite accommodation across every category, alongside expanded dining, wellness and social spaces.
The ship will have seven dining venues, including speciality restaurants and a new culinary studio offering hands-on cooking experiences and destination-inspired programming.
There will also be five lounges and cocktail bar spaces, two outdoor bars, an expanded fitness and wellness centre and a large swimming pool.
Expedition Yacht Designed for Worldwide Exploration
Atlas Adventurer has been designed to combine luxury cruising with expedition capabilities, allowing guests to explore destinations that are difficult to reach on larger cruise ships.
The yacht will carry Zodiacs and luxury motorboats and feature a marina platform with an ocean pool for water-based exploration.
Its propulsion system combines dual-fuel engines with electric-hybrid technology and a 9-megawatt marine battery system. The system is designed to support high speeds in light winds while allowing for quieter sailing.
The yacht will also feature zero-speed fin stabilisers, two vertical fin stabilisers, a reinforced hull and Ice Class 1B (Polar Category C) capability.

Alongside the 128-night Grand Odyssey Expedition, Atlas Ocean Voyages will offer additional extended voyages aboard Atlas Adventurer between November 2028 and April 2029.

Additional Atlas Adventurer voyages will range from eight to 128 nights, giving travellers the option to explore Asia and Africa through shorter or extended expedition itineraries.
