Mountain biking takes centre stage in the French Alps next summer as Avoriaz prepares to host the 22nd edition of the Pass’Portes du Soleil MTB Expo for the very first time.
Taking place from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 June 2026, the major cycling event will welcome riders, industry professionals and mountain biking enthusiasts from around the world to the heart of the Portes du Soleil region for three days dedicated entirely to biking culture, alpine trails and the latest innovations in the sport.
Running daily from 9am to 6pm, the expo is expected to attract thousands of visitors, with previous editions drawing more than 8,000 participants internationally. Over 200 globally recognised brands will be present throughout the weekend, showcasing new mountain bikes, equipment, accessories and technology designed for riders of all levels.
One of the event’s biggest draws is the opportunity for visitors to test bikes directly on specially marked trails departing from the Salon VTT in Avoriaz itself. Rather than simply browsing exhibition stands, attendees can take equipment straight onto the mountain terrain, experiencing the trails and alpine scenery that have made the Portes du Soleil one of Europe’s most popular mountain biking destinations.
The resort offers an ideal setting for the event, with direct trail access from the village alongside extensive services tailored specifically to mountain bikers. Visitors will have access to bike rentals, repair stations, bike washing facilities, secure storage areas and specialist accessories throughout the weekend, helping to create a seamless experience both on and off the trails.
Beyond the riding itself, the event also aims to celebrate the wider mountain biking community, with entertainment, activities and opportunities to meet industry experts and fellow riders from across Europe all forming part of the atmosphere across the three days.
Known for its distinctive cliffside architecture and car-free resort centre, Avoriaz has become an increasingly popular summer destination for outdoor sports, and hosting the Pass’Portes du Soleil MTB Expo marks another major addition to its growing summer events calendar.
For those planning to attend, a three-night stay at Résidence Pierre & Vacances Saskia Falaise, arriving on 26 June 2026, is currently priced from £98 per person based on two people sharing a one-bedroom studio apartment. Flights and transfers are extra.
