Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has unveiled new details of Great Tides Waterpark, a six-acre attraction opening on 4 September 2026 at Great Stirrup Cay, the cruise line's private island in the Bahamas.

The new waterpark forms part of a major redevelopment of the 270-acre island and introduces several world-first attractions, family-friendly experiences, new restaurants and upgraded guest facilities, making Great Stirrup Cay one of the Caribbean's most exciting private island destinations.
Great Tides Waterpark to Feature Record-Breaking Attractions
Designed for guests of all ages, Great Tides Waterpark will include a mix of adrenaline-filled rides and relaxing attractions.
Highlights include:
The Wandering River, featuring the cruise industry's first immersive lazy river tunnel.
The Great Slide, the Caribbean's only four-person body slide.
Tidal Tower, home to the Breakwater Blasters, the Caribbean's first duelling Master Blaster water coaster slides that propel riders uphill using high-powered water jets.
Cliffside Cove, featuring the cruise industry's first cliff jumps and the tallest cliff jumps in the Caribbean.
Splash Cay, a dedicated splash zone designed for younger children and families.
The new attractions have been designed to offer something for every traveller, from thrill-seekers to families looking for a more relaxed day ashore.
New Pier Makes Visiting Great Stirrup Cay Easier
Alongside the waterpark, Norwegian Cruise Line has officially opened a new two-berth pier at Great Stirrup Cay.
The new facility allows ships to dock directly at the island, eliminating the need for tender boats and giving guests more time to enjoy the island's beaches, attractions and dining experiences.

New Restaurants and Island Dining
Guests visiting Great Tides Waterpark will also have access to several new food outlets.
Low Tide Smoke will specialise in slow-smoked barbecue favourites, including St. Louis BBQ pork riblets, chicken wings, BBQ pork nachos and crispy buffalo cauliflower.
Seafood lovers can visit Catch of the Cay, serving crispy shrimp rolls, fried shrimp baskets and chilled seafood rolls with seasoned waffle fries.
For dessert, Tidal Treats will offer handcrafted sundaes, bubble waffle bowls and tropical fish-shaped waffle cones with a choice of colourful soft-serve flavours.
Complimentary buffet dining will also be available throughout the waterpark.
Swim-Up Bars and Drinks Included
Guests can enjoy drinks without leaving the water thanks to two new bars.
The Floataway Bar sits within The Wandering River, while the Grotto Bar, located beneath The Great Slide at Cliffside Cove, offers views of guests taking on the island's dramatic cliff jumps.
Drinks are included for eligible guests using Norwegian Cruise Line's Free at Sea unlimited beverage package.
Premium Experiences at Great Stirrup Cay
Visitors looking for a more exclusive experience can reserve private cabanas accommodating up to six guests inside Great Tides Waterpark.
Additional premium options include the adults-only Vibe Shore Club, featuring premium loungers and a private bar, as well as beachfront and poolside cabanas across the island.
Guests can also book access to Silver Cove, NCL's luxury retreat offering a private beach, infinity pool, exclusive restaurant, air-conditioned villas and spa facilities.

Great Tides Waterpark Opens in September 2026
The official grand opening of Great Tides Waterpark takes place on 4 September 2026.
Guests wishing to experience the opening can book Norwegian Luna's seven-day Caribbean sailing departing 29 August 2026, with day passes for the waterpark now available to purchase through guests' myNCL accounts after booking.
Great Tides Waterpark will then be available to guests on Norwegian Cruise Line Caribbean itineraries visiting Great Stirrup Cay throughout the year.
