Dingle Named One of Europe's Top 10 Destinations for a Longer, Healthier Life

Could the secret to a longer, healthier life be found in a little seaside town in County Kerry?
New research has named Dingle one of Europe's top 10 destinations for a longevity lifestyle, joining Mediterranean favourites in a ranking of places where everyday habits encourage healthier, slower living.
The study, conducted by villa holiday specialists CV Villas, analysed almost 100 European destinations using lifestyle principles inspired by the world's famous Blue Zones, regions associated with exceptional longevity.
Researchers examined factors including walkability, pace of life, plant-based dining, local wine culture and opportunities for social connection.
Dingle Makes Europe's Top 10
Dingle secured tenth place with a Longevity Score of 43.04 out of 100, making it one of only two non-Mediterranean destinations in the top ten. And it's easy to see why! With its colourful streets, traditional Irish pubs, fresh seafood and lively music sessions, Dingle offers the kind of relaxed, community-focused lifestyle associated with the Blue Zone philosophy. The town is small enough to explore on foot, while its spectacular coastal surroundings provide plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.

Why Longevity Travel Is Trending
Longevity and wellness holidays are becoming increasingly popular, with travellers looking
for experiences that encourage relaxation, movement, healthier eating and meaningful connections. The Blue Zone philosophy focuses on everyday habits such as walking regularly, eating balanced meals, maintaining strong social relationships and slowing down.
While visiting these destinations doesn't guarantee a longer life, they offer opportunities to experience some of the lifestyle habits associated with healthy ageing.
And with Dingle's spectacular scenery, welcoming atmosphere and famous Irish hospitality, it's certainly a lovely place to start!
