Get ready for four extraordinary days! From Thursday 5 to Sunday 8 March, the legendary TedFest takes place on Inis Mór, part of the Aran Islands. If you don’t know what it is, we’ll explain everything so you don’t miss this completely bonkers event!
What is TedFest?
TedFest is an annual festival, held since 2007, dedicated to the cult Irish sitcom Father Ted and it brings together hundreds of fans every year. The event takes place on Inis Mór, off the coast of County Galway, Ireland.
If you’re not familiar with the series, it follows three priests exiled for various reasons to Craggy Island. You follow their hilariously chaotic adventures as they try to help the island’s residents.
For several days, the island lives to the rhythm of quirky activities inspired directly by the show’s humor. The atmosphere is friendly, festive, and delightfully absurd!

What exactly are we doing there?
The program changes every year, but some events have become unmissable festival classics, such as:
The Lovely Girls competition
The legendary Craggy Island céilí (a throwback to 1950s parish dances)
The iconic Craggy Cup (5-a-side football where all “divine” tactics are allowed)
An evening at the Las Vegas nightclub hosted by Father Billy Dwyer,
Spinmaster presenter
Ted’s Got Talent (a parody of Britain’s Got Talent)
And even a priests’ dance competition (yes, really)
And much more. One thing is certain: you won’t be bored. A truly unique experience where originality and the unconventional become the norm.

How to get there?
There are several ways to reach Inis Mór:
By ferry from Rossaveel (40 min)
By ferry from Doolin (35 min)
By plane from Connemara Airport (10 min)

Where to stay during TedFest
If you want the full Craggy Island experience, you can camp on Inis Mór.
If you prefer more comfort, choose glamping, a guesthouse, or a hotel on the island.
You can find all accommodation options on the Aran Islands website.

On the island, you’ll also find everything you need: an ATM, drinks, food, and clothing at SPAR. So you have no excuse not to go and experience something completely wild!

Bring your best friend, your favorite rosary, and pack your bags for a once-in-a-lifetime event. Laughter, connection, and chaos guaranteed for unforgettable memories.
And beyond the festival, enjoy the island’s spectacular landscapes, with dramatic cliffs and wild nature typical of the Irish coast. See you there?
