  • Cliff Diving, Cocktails & 7-Mile Long Beaches: Jamaica FAM Trip Day 2!

Day Two of the Virgin Atlantic Fam…  Sean-Pierre Webster from Visit Jamaica alongside Joanne Peters from the Palladium Hotel Group with Celene Duffy of Virgin Atlantic are leading the group across the sandy island framed by picturesque rainforests and calm sea views. ITTN’s Katie joins Travel Counsellor Claire Maher, Kaytlyn Fitzharris of Barter’s Travel Net, Alison Clark from Club Travel, Kat Tryjankowska from Tropical Sky, Louise Kenna of Cassidy Travel’s Dundrum branch, Edel Ward from Best4Travel and Joanne Gomez from Travel Focus on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure!  The day began at 8.45 sharp, for those that have travelled with Mr. Sean Pierre- you’ll know that there are no prisoners taken when it comes to lateness! The group departed the glorious Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton (more on this fantastic hotel tomorrow) where they have been enjoying the Signature Level for the first half of their Jamaican stay. Then, it was off to Negril- the area of Jamaica known for its stretching sandy beaches on shallow bays with calm, turquoise waters. The Seven Mile Beach was the first spot, overlooking Long Bay, it’s where most of the international, all-inclusive brands are located alongside its thriving bar and restaurant culture.  The first hotel visit was to be Couples Negril, the quintessential all-inclusive for romantics, the all-inclusive hotel includes unlimited daily meals with wine at lunch or dinner, all drinks at any of their five restaurants and all water sports activities and organised tour. Let’s just say, when couples go to Couples, they’re very well looked after! The hotel itself is beautiful, from the eco-friendly litho chrome paint that portrays a feeling of elegance with a rustic flare, to the priceless sculptures by renowned Jamaican sculptor, Gene Pearson, that lends an authentic and important Caribbean heritage on every corner. Julene, a HEART trainee for the property, led the group from room to room telling us more about the 234 rooms on offer. Guests can choose from Deluxe Garden View rooms (92), Deluxe Ocean View rooms (77), Deluxe Beach front (47) or a Beach front suite (12) and Garden View Suite (6). From windsurfing to hobi cat sailing, sunfish sailing, snorkelling, scuba-diving and more- all experiences are looked after and encouraged for guests at the resort!  This is the ideal stay for honeymooners and newlyweds, and also organises weddings for those that have yet to tie the knot! Importantly, for travel agents for your LGBTQ+ travellers or Pink guests, this is one of few properties in Jamaican known to make a special effort to make these guests feel at home. After Couples Negril, the group stopped to experience one of the fantastic bars available along the beach, Boardwalk, where they experienced a wonderful drop of local beer shandy, enjoyed hot sauce and even saw a lobster and crab being caught live for a nearby restaurant by its owner!  Next up, it was a hotel visit at Sandals Negril! This stretching resort occupies 1700ft of Negril’s pristine Seven Mile white sand beach with phenomenal one-bedroom oceanfront suites, ultra luxurious palm grove villa suites with private plunge pool and chic rooms and suites in their Long shore building. In fact, the award-winning resort has 244 rooms across 19 categories and this travel writer won’t even try and list them all! The are nine restaurants at the resort from Mexican to Spanish tapas, Japanese Teppanyaki and a variety of indoor and outdoor dining. There are six bars and cocktails loungers across the resort and daily entertainment in the evenings! Romaine guided the group around the resort, providing a fantastic lunch with a special rum cocktail that was delicious!  Sandals is an adult-only hotel, best for couples but also accommodating family and friend groups. One note for travel agents: their ocean view rooms (listed on bed banks) may be a  little  deceiving to your customers- some of them are partial ocean views so it’s always worth double-checking!  Next, the group went to Beaches Negril, similarly located on this stunning white sandy beach. This is your ideal family resort. The group was met by Sesame Street characters and fresh juice on arrival. Led by the fantastic and efficient Chevelle, she guided the group through the Pirate Island Water Theme Park, Kids Kamp and Nursery and amazing stretching beach, bars and restaurants. There are twelve restaurant options on the resort, from Japanese ‘Kimonos’ to Dino’s Pizzeria, and Yoyo’s Frozen yogurt bar that the group were lucky enough to try! There is so much to talk about this hotel but just know that this hotel is the most accommodating to families of every size. They look after the accessibility for families that want to bring grandparents to ensure that beds are on ground floor level when it comes to their larger villas. They have a range of interconnecting rooms to suit families from small kids to teenagers, to aunts and uncles- each holiday seems especially designed to make sure that families are happy no matter their size! Their incredible Kids Kamp and Nursery has multiple activities available for kids- this is one nursery that will look after kids of all ages even if they’re “straight out of the womb”, letting parents have a break. Over 80% of the staff on Beaches are Certified in Autism training and understanding, and that includes the kids club that looks after kids as though they were their own!  At the end of the day, of thirty-five-degree weather and a light sprinkling of rain around lunch time, the group hopped back in their coach transfer operated by the fantastic Patrick, and went to their final stop of the day! Rick’s Cafe, the first public bar and restaurant of its type on the West End Cliffs, offering an alternative to Negril’s majestic seven-mile beach. This eccentric spot features a long bar and cliff-diving where you can have a cocktail and watch people jump to the depths of the clear sea below! With Jamaican dancers, “magic mushroom brownies” across the street and that sheer rock cliff where fellow travellers- Claire and Jo jumped off- it really was the perfect way to end the day exploring Negril!

In partnership with the Jamaica Tourism Board , Celene Duffy (Key Account Manager for APG Ireland) is hosting a fam trip of key travel trade to the vibrant island of Jamaica on a four-night fam that took off yesterday!  ITTN’s Katie Doyle joins Travel Counsellor Claire Maher, Kaytlyn Fitzharris of Barter’s Travel Net, Alison Clark from Club Travel, Kat Tryjankowska from Tropical Sky, Louise Kenna of Cassidy Travel’s Dundrum branch, Edel Ward from Best4Travel and Joanne Gomez from Travel Focus! • Expedition Kissimmee FAM Wraps with Luxe Vacation Home Showcase & Holiday Magic

ITTN’s Julia Labedz is continuing the Expedition Kissimmee FAM trip, joined by Jo White of Experience Kissimmee, Charlotte Flach of Selling Travel , and 10 international media representatives. Today’s itinerary placed the spotlight on high-end hospitality, with exclusive access to luxury vacation homes, resort experiences, and even some festive entertainment across Kissimmee. Joining Julia on the trip are: Ikram Casas, Daniel Guerrero, Amanda Leonel, Martha Vargas, Ann Rupenstein, Nancy Benettonsampath, Jill Weinlein, Lisa Niver, Khursheed Dinshaw, Christophe Hardin, and Marcos Ferreira. The morning began with a visit to Reunion Resort & Golf Club , a 2,300-acre destination resort located just 10 kilometers from Walt Disney World. After a meet-and-greet in the Grande Lobby, the group received an overview of the what the resort has on offer, from luxury villas and private homes to its full suite of guest amenities. The tour included a stop at the on-site water park, complete with lazy river and slides, followed by a walk-through of several of the resort’s most impressive vacation homes. With accommodations ranging from one-bedroom villas to 13-bedroom estates, Reunion’s portfolio caters to everything from FITs and multigenerational families to large groups and corporate incentives. The resort itself is set within a beautifully maintained golf and leisure community, and provides access to three signature courses. The resort delivers the ultimate high-end guest experience while still being within easy reach of Orlando’s main attractions. What stood out most during the tour were the incredible themed children’s bedrooms, which ranged from Disney princess suites and Encanto -inspired décor to entire arcade-style game rooms and even an indoor basketball court. These fantasy-worthy rooms were a hit among the media group and showcased just how creatively tailored the properties can be for families. Each home we toured was exceptionally clean, immaculately maintained, and impressively spacious, with stunning private pools, expansive kitchens designed for entertaining, and sleek, modern finishes throughout. The combination of whimsical design and high-spec amenities makes these homes both playful and luxurious, truly enticing for families, multigenerational groups, or even celebrity guests. Following the tour, the group headed to the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center for lunch at Wreckers Sports Bar . Known for having the largest sports screen in the area, Wreckers served up classic American pub food and hit the spot in more ways than one! Beyond the dining, the group had the chance to explore the resort’s indoor atrium, a vast, glass-enclosed space complete with cascading waterfalls, koi fish ponds, a cave system, and tropical landscaping. Boutique shops dotted the walkways, adding to the experience and making the resort feel like a self-contained town of its own. Next on the agenda was a visit to ICE! at Gaylord Palms , one of Florida’s most unique holiday experiences, and probably the coldest, as the group moved from a lovely 28 degree full-sunshine heat to -12 degrees celsius. With this year’s theme centred around Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer , the attraction transformed the resort into what can only be described as a truly festive wonderland of ice sculptures, light installations, with plenty of storytelling to accompany each attraction. Thanks to the low temperature, the holiday experience could include detailed, larger-than-life sculptures of Rudolph, Clarice, Bumble the Abominable Snow Monster, and Santa’s sleigh, all hand-carved from more than two million pounds of ice.  After thawing out from the sub-zero temps, the group had time to return to the resort and prepare for dinner. To close the day, and the FAM, the group was welcomed to a private, luxury vacation home for a glamorous closing event. The event took place at the stunning Grand Palm Oasis, one of Reunion’s premier private homes managed and generously provided to the group as an event space for the night by Top Tier Vacation Rentals. Julia spoke with Sharon Harley, Business Development Manager at Top Tier, who shared how the company curates “tailored stays and timeless memories” across its collection of approximately 60 luxury homes, ranging from 4 to 14 bedrooms. She emphasised their focus on pre-arrival coordination, such as arranging surprises for birthdays or making sure cribs are set up for babies, making sure each guest receives a personalised welcome. Guests are greeted on arrival by a team member and guided through the home in a detailed orientation. Sharon also spoke a bit about the behind-the-scenes element of the upkeep of these stunning homes, and emphasised their proactive approach to maintenance, with regular inspections and full checks before each stay to guarantee a flawless experience. The space itself is absolutely stunning – the foyer opens into a bright, airy interior where gold and black accents carry through the home, complemented by statement lighting pieces that add real character without overwhelming the room. Outside, the pool area is a standout feature in its own right, complete with a built-in bar and even a basketball court. The kids’ bedrooms are a major highlight too, as they are fully themed and brilliantly imaginative, including a Barbie-inspired room with a life-sized Mattel box that adults inevitably end up posing in as well (guilty!). The house also has a private movie theatre which hosted many a round of karaoke during the event, a bowling alley, a golf simulator and a fully equipped games room, and that’s only scratching the surface of what this property offers. Thanks to these fabulous amenities, Top Tier’s properties set a new benchmark for vacation home excellence in Kissimmee. After the short interview, Julia enjoyed the night with Jo White and Charlotte Flach, mingling, grabbing some bites and getting on a bit of a competitive edge by playing air hockey, bowling & pool. The event even featured artists set up in the foyer creating chic, fashion-style portraits of guests. Watching them paint was a lovely touch, and the finished pieces made for a brilliant keepsake to take home! During the night, Julia spoke with the media group that have accompanied her on truly experiencing Kissimmee for the past week. She spoke to Lisa Niver, author of Brave-ish about their experience, and Lisa’s response summarised the trip perfectly; “What I love about Kissimmee is how it holds every kind of magic in one place. You’re surrounded by world-class parks—new adventures like Epic Universe, and at EPCOT I rode the incredible new Guardians of the Galaxy coaster, did my longtime favorite Test Track, and even went scuba diving in the Living Seas before watching the fireworks light up the sky. This trip, I stayed at Margaritaville and loved starting my day with sunrise by one pool and ending it with sunset by another. And then there’s the joy of coming ‘home.’ As the luxury vacation home capital of the world, Kissimmee is incredible for multigenerational travel. Families can wake up to simple breakfasts together, spread out in spacious homes with private water parks, and still have all the amenities of a resort. But Kissimmee is just as rich in natural wonder as it is in man-made thrills. My first airboat ride with Captain Jeff at Wild Florida brought me nose-to-water with alligators, sweeping wetlands, and more bald eagles than you’ll see anywhere in the contiguous United States—second only to Alaska. With peaceful lakes perfect for kayaking, bike rides through Celebration, and the charm of Winter Park, Kissimmee blends heart-pounding fun with the real Florida wilderness in a way that feels unforgettable.” The evening was a fabulous get-together celebrating the success of Expedition Kissimmee , bringing together media, hosts, and partners for one final toast to an unforgettable week. ITTN would like to extend its deepest thanks to Experience Kissimmee for the exceptional organisation, hospitality, and attention to detail throughout the Expedition Kissimmee FAM trip. From the moment of arrival to the final evening glass of bubbly, every element of the itinerary reflected the destination’s commitment to delivering world-class experiences for the international travel trade. Special thanks go to the many accommodation providers, attractions, venue hosts, and event partners who helped bring this programme to life.

  • Florida’s Wildlife and Flagship Attractions Take Centre Stage on Expedition Kissimmee FAM

ITTN’s Julia Labedz is on the Expedition Kissimmee FAM trip this week, exploring one of Florida’s most dynamic visitor destinations through a packed itinerary. The group spent the day discovering some of the area’s wildest highlights,  riding rollercoasters, skimming across the Everglades on an airboat, and spotting a Floridian classic – ‘gators! She is joined by Jo White of Experience Kissimmee, Charlotte Flach of Selling Travel , and 10 international media representatives; Ikram Casas, Daniel Guerrero, Amanda Leonel, Martha Vargas, Ann Rupenstein, Nancy Benettonsampath, Jill Weinlein, Lisa Niver, Khursheed Dinshaw, Christophe Hardin, and Marcos Ferreira.  The day began at Wild Florida Adventure Park , a standout attraction that delivers up-close encounters with Florida’s native and exotic wildlife. The group kicked off their visit by heading around the different exhibits available – bobcats, lemurs, the cutest fennel foxes, and of course – crocs. There were plenty of lookout points available, including raised verandas over the gator pond where the group were able to observe the animals getting into and out of the water as well as swimming around. Afterwards, it was time for a 30-minute airboat ride across the headwaters of the Everglades! Airboats are flat-bottomed boats with a giant fan strapped to the back, and they are an iconic way to explore Florida’s wetlands. They’re loud, fast, and simply glide over shallow waters, making them perfect for spotting wildlife in otherwise unreachable areas. Not something you’d typically find in Ireland, that’s for sure! The Florida Everglades, often referred to as the “River of Grass,” is one of the most distinctive ecosystems in the United States, home to a huge network of wetlands, marshes, and slow-moving waters. The group got to glide across its headwaters thanks to their Captain Jimmy, and experienced firsthand the beauty and biodiversity of this protected landscape. There were plenty of wild animal sightings, from birds to, of course, alligators. Wild Florida was a crazy albeit immersive start to the day, and additionally combined both conservation with adventure, making it a highlight on the itinerary and a definite recommendation from Julia. Soon, it was time to grab a bite to fuel up for the rest of the day. Lunch was hosted at the Columbia Restaurant in Celebration, a family-owned institution that has been serving Spanish-Cuban cuisine for over 115 years. Set in a beautifully styled space, the restaurant is known for its hospitality and time-honoured recipes. The group enjoyed a selection of traditional dishes, including the famed Original Cuban Sandwich , with the highlight being Columbia’s signature 1905 Salad . Julia enjoyed the popular Half & Half Combo, which included a Cuban Sandwich and a cup of bean soup. Columbia was both a delicious and homely place to dine in, and the perfect pick-me-up for the second half of the day.  After lunch, Julia opted for the bike ride through Celebration , a master-planned community originally developed by The Walt Disney Company in the mid 1990’s, and there couldn’t have been a better way to experience this truly storybook town! With bikes provided by Celebration Bike Rentals and the sun shining, the group pedalled off on a relaxed loop through the heart of the community.  The town officially opened in 1996 and was designed in collaboration with renowned architects and urban planners to reflect early 20th-century aesthetics, complete with wide front porches, picket fences, and pedestrian-friendly streets – basically, the representation of a truly idyllic American town. The open trails made for a refreshing mid-afternoon break, and a few photo stops along the way didn’t hurt either… After the bike ride, the group headed back to the Margaritaville Resort to refresh before dinner. We’ve had lemurs, gators, speeding over wetlands and the experience of a classic Americana town – question is, what does dinner have in store? Well – have you ever dined in a theme park the size of a small city? EPCOT is a world of its own. Spanning over 300 acres, it is designed around four neighbourhoods: World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature and World Showcase, each offering a different feel and purpose.  World Discovery immerses guests in themes of space, science and innovation; World Nature invites exploration of the planet’s ecosystems; World Celebration focuses on creativity and global connection; and World Showcase presents authentic experiences from eleven nations, centred around the World Showcase Lagoon.  The evening kicked off with a ride on Test Track , which was the perfect opening to the night and got everyone absolutely rearing to go. The attraction tops out at nearly 105 km/h and definitely left a few members of the group with windswept hairstyles. After regaining consciousness and getting rid of jelly-legs, the group moved on to a private dinner that was nothing short of spectacular. Delicious buffet-style dishes were available for the group to pick and choose from, and the DJ kept the party atmosphere alive long after the plates were cleared. Dessert came with a show – the Fireworks Dessert Party at Mexico Vista , where the group seriously indulged in sweet treats like Mickey Mouse shaped ice-cream while taking in the Luminous – The Symphony of Us , the current nighttime spectacular at EPCOT, playing from a floating stage on the World Showcase Lagoon. It features fireworks, lasers, water fountains, lighting effects and a (very) emotional musical score. Unlike some earlier shows which focused primarily on spectacle, Luminous is designed to tell a human story, from themes of birth, family, play, love, loss and unity. According to its creators, the idea is that each guest plays a part in the “symphony” of life – different melodies coming together to create something beautiful.  And create something beautiful they did. The group enjoyed the firework show over the Lagoon with a prime view, but the magic of Kissimmee didn’t end there (the group couldn’t believe it either!). To cap the evening off, it was time for a high-speed journey through the cosmos on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind . This reverse-launch rollercoaster very nearly launched Julia’s socks into orbit, making for a larger-than-life ending to a day packed with energy, surprises, and hospitality that will be hard to forget and even harder to leave behind! ITTN extends sincere thanks to Experience Kissimmee for hosting this FAM, to all organising partners involved in delivering today’s exceptional itinerary, including Wild Florida Adventure Park, Columbia Restaurant, Celebration Bike Rentals, and Walt Disney World Resort for the EPCOT dinner and fireworks experience. Make sure to stay tuned for more on what the group get up to on our social media channels!

  • Ljubljana, Slovenia: A Fairytale Weekend Escape

Tucked between the Alps and the Adriatic, Ljubljana may be one of Europe’s smallest capitals, but it packs a big punch. With cobbled streets, pastel façades, and leafy riverbanks, it feels like stepping into a storybook. Compact, charming, and wonderfully walkable, this Slovenian gem is the perfect destination for a weekend break. For accommodation, travelers have plenty of stylish options. Vander Urbani Resort, right in the heart of the old town, combines sleek design with a rooftop pool overlooking the Ljubljanica River. Hotel Cubo offers a more classic luxury experience with spacious rooms and attentive service. For those on a budget, AdHoc Hostel provides an affordable base while Celica Art Hostel, a former prison transformed into a creative hub, delivers a truly quirky stay. Ljubljana’s food scene is equally impressive. Mornings often begin with a pastry and coffee at Le Petit Café, a spot beloved by locals. At lunchtime, the Central Market bursts with fresh produce and Slovenian delicacies, perfect for grazing and people-watching. For dinner, Strelec Restaurant inside Ljubljana Castle combines fine dining with sweeping city views, while Gostilna Sokol serves hearty Slovenian fare like goulash and štruklji in a cozy, rustic setting. If you’re lucky enough to visit on a Friday, the city’s Odprta Kuhna (Open Kitchen) food market showcases chefs from across the country serving everything from truffle pasta to Asian street eats. When the sun goes down, Ljubljana comes alive with riverside bars and vibrant nightlife. TOZD is a local favorite, transforming seamlessly from artisan coffee house by day to craft beer hotspot by night. For cocktails paired with panoramic views, Nebotičnik, known locally as “the Skyscraper”, is a glamorous choice, while wine enthusiasts will enjoy Movia Wine Bar, where Slovenia’s underrated vineyards take center stage. Ljubljana is also a dream for photography lovers. The castle, perched high above the city, offers stunning views of terracotta rooftops and the river winding below. Down in the old town, the iconic Dragon Bridge provides one of the city’s most famous photo opportunities, while Prešeren Square and its pastel pink Franciscan Church make a striking backdrop. Jože Plečnik’s Triple Bridge glows beautifully at sunset, and for something more alternative, the graffiti-covered Metelkova Art Center explodes with color and character. A weekend in Ljubljana balances culture, cuisine, and charm with ease. On the first day, take a leisurely walk along the river, crossing the city’s unique bridges before riding the funicular to Ljubljana Castle for dinner and panoramic views. The second day is best spent exploring: begin at the Central Market, then wander through the National Gallery or Tivoli Park. If it’s Friday, Odprta Kuhna is the perfect evening plan, followed by drinks at Nebotičnik. On the final morning, head to Metelkova for street art, enjoy a lazy brunch, and, if time permits, board a river cruise for a last look at the city’s fairytale skyline. With whimsical architecture, a thriving food scene, and a pace that invites you to slow down and savor, Ljubljana proves that the best destinations don’t need to be the biggest. For a weekend escape filled with character and charm, Slovenia’s capital is nothing short of enchanting.

  • The Essential Scarf: Your Must-Have Travel Companion

When packing for a trip, we often focus on the big essentials—clothes, toiletries, shoes—but there’s one small yet powerful item that deserves a permanent place in your suitcase: a good scarf. Versatile, lightweight, and effortlessly stylish, a scarf is a travel hero that many overlook. Here’s why you should never leave home without one. A Travel Blanket in Disguise Flights can be notoriously chilly, and while airlines provide blankets on long-haul trips, they’re not always the coziest. A soft, oversized scarf doubles as a warm cover-up, making your journey far more comfortable. Whether wrapped around your shoulders or draped over your legs, it provides just the right amount of warmth without taking up precious space in your bag. A Stylish Wardrobe Booster Packing light often means repeating outfits, but a scarf adds instant variety. A printed or colorful scarf transforms a simple outfit into something fresh and chic. Whether worn as a headscarf, draped around your neck, or tied onto your handbag, it’s a low-effort way to elevate your travel style. A Modesty Saver Many religious and cultural sites require visitors to dress modestly, covering shoulders, arms, or even hair. Instead of carrying extra clothing, a scarf can serve as a quick, respectful cover-up. It’s an easy way to ensure you’re appropriately dressed without adding bulk to your luggage. A Beach and Poolside Essential A lightweight cotton scarf is the ultimate multitasker when it comes to beach days. It can serve as a sarong, a head wrap to shield you from the sun, or even a make-shift towel if you forget yours. Need to go from beach to bar? Just wrap your scarf around your waist, and you’ve got an effortless cover-up. A Functional Layer for Any Weather Even in warm climates, evenings can get cool. Instead of carrying a bulky jacket, a scarf provides a light yet effective layer of warmth. In colder destinations, a wool scarf adds an extra buffer against the elements, proving it's worth time and time again. Final Thoughts A good scarf is the one thing you’ll thank yourself for packing. It’s small, stylish, and endlessly functional—a true travel essential. So next time you’re getting ready for a trip, don’t overlook this simple yet powerful accessory. It’s one of the smartest things you can bring along!
