  • Where to Buy Labubu's in Dublin 2026

It’s fluffy. It’s a little ugly. It clips on perfectly to your handbag - few collectibles have crossed so many borders, both cultural and literal, as Kasing Lung’s snag-toothed sprite, Labubu .  Released in 2019 by Chinese designer-toy powerhouse Pop Mart, the palm-sized monster has Gen-Zers queuing for blind boxes - yet tracking down an authentic Labubu on Irish soil can feel impossible. Here’s your up-to-the-minute guide. 1. Forbidden Planet D u blin If you’re visiting the capital, Forbidden Planet  on Crampton Quay by Temple Bar remains the steadiest (if still sporadic) source of Pop Mart stock. The cult-comics retailer receives small, allocated drops of Labubu blind boxes and the occasional 37 cm plush; staff report every batch selling through within hours. Your best tactic is to: Follow their Instagram Stories  for restock alerts. Arrive early  - queues form before opening on release days. Bring cash-plus-card ; some limited editions are capped at one per customer, and the basement can have spotty connection for contactless. 2. Pop-Ups - Watch Arnotts Henry Street Ireland still lacks a dedicated Pop Mart flagship, and the company’s global store map lists the Republic as “coming soon” rather than confirmed. That said, summer 2025 introduced a stop-gap: a Pop Mart vending machine (dubbed a “Robo Shop”) on the first floor of Arnotts, Dublin 1 , complete with snaking queues of thirty-somethings reliving Beanie-Baby flashbacks. Stock is refreshed unpredictably, so treat it as a bonus rather than a guarantee. 3. Ordering from Across the Irish Sea Until Pop Mart opens an Irish warehouse, most collectors supplement local hunts with online orders: Route Pros Cons Pop Mart UK Webstore Official stock, fixed RRP £-€ exchange + shipping; customs if over €150 ForbiddenPlanet.com Ships to Ireland, occasional Labubu bundles Drops announced with little notice Designer-toy specialists (e.g., OneKickIreland, TofuCute) Curated selections Smaller allocations, higher markup Always factor VAT and import duties when the basket total (item + shipping) clears €150. Dodging the “Lafufu” Trap Because demand outstrips supply, entire Telegram groups are dedicated to exposing counterfeits, nicknamed “lafufus.”  Telltale red flags include: Teeth count:  authentic Labubu has exactly  nine fangs. Paint tone:  Pop Mart uses a soft peach base; neon pink or orange suggests a fake. Packaging:  real blind boxes carry Pop Mart’s silver hologram and a QR code that scans to the company’s authenticity app. If a price seems too good to be true, or a seller won’t provide close-ups, assume lafufu and walk away. Or give in - no one counts teeth anyways…right? Tips for First-Time Hunters Budget realistically.  Standard blind boxes retail around €17–€25 in-store; limited plush versions are near €40. Swap, don’t scalp.  Dublin’s anime conventions (DCC, Eirtakon) host trade tables where doubles can be exchanged at cost. Store them correctly.  Ireland’s humidity can yellow vinyl; keep figures in a polybag with silica gel if you plan to display later. Pop Mart’s European roadmap hints at a flagship opening once logistics for VAT-inclusive pricing stabilise. Until then, Forbidden Planet  remains Labubu lovers first port of call, and vigilance your best defence against lafufus. Happy hunting!

  • ITTN Highlights Final Day of Barbados FAM with Catamaran Cruise and Dinner Show

ITTN’s Julia Labedz is continuing her Caribbean adventure in Barbados on a FAM trip hosted by Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI), Aer Lingus and Travel Trade Representation (TTR). After several days of hotel inspections and even a trip on the original Bajan Bus, day 4 was all about getting in the water and partying in true Barbados style! Joining the trip from Ireland are Roisin Carbery (Tropical Sky), Deepak Jadoun (Click&GO), Sarah Kelly (Best4Travel), and Suzanne Reynolds (Cassidy Travel). From the UK, Julia is accompanied by Caroline Cousins (Oasis Travel), Linda Devlin (Glen Travel), Olivia King (Humming Bird), Rachel Howes (Prestbury Travel) and Erin Docherty (If Only Holidays). The group are led by the wonderful Cedric Lynch from Visit Barbados. The day began with an early departure from the O2 Beach Club & Spa, heading out for one of Barbados’ most beloved experiences – a Cool Runnings Catamaran cruise! Cool Runnings is a well‑established Barbados catamaran operator known for its fun, full‑day sailing experiences along the west coast. The company specialises in snorkel lunch cruises , sunset sails, and private charters aboard custom‑built catamarans that are designed for comfort. Guests typically enjoy multiple stops for swimming and snorkelling, including over shallow shipwrecks and around sea turtles, with snorkelling gear, lunch, unlimited drinks, and guides provided as part of the package.  The catamaran cruise had a real party atmosphere with music playing, everyone chatting away, and the crew keeping the energy high even though the weather turned quite rainy. The team running the boat were crazy fun, constantly joking, dancing, and making sure everyone was having a great time. The first snorkelling stop in Carlisle Bay was a highlight. The group swam over a shipwreck surrounded by fish, which the guides fed so they circled in formations right in front of them. Julia even spotted a small shark beneath the group. Some of the agents were lucky enough to see turtles, too! The second stop near Sandy Lane was another chance to get in the water, though there wasn’t much to see underwater at this site bar crystal clear waters and a few fish. After snorkelling, everyone returned to the boat for lunch, which was chicken, rice, and potatoes in a rich sauce. A simple classic, but perfect after a swim! After disembarking the boat, Cedric continued the fun by bringing the group to a very local rum shop called The Goalkeeper. There, he introduced everyone to what he affectionately called “the one‑eyed rum” – a (very) strong local pour that certainly lived up to the name. Dinner Show After a short break to refresh, it was time for dinner at the Harbour Lights Beach Extravaganza & Dinner Show , a long‑running and hugely popular beachfront event held on Carlisle Bay in Bridgetown (typically every Wednesday and Thursday evening ), known for its celebration of authentic Bajan entertainment right on the sand. It’s far more than dinner – guests are invited to enjoy three live bands and a huge mix of performers, like stilt walkers and Kadooment dancers or fire eaters and of course Mother Sally who packs a lot both through her performance and…other things.  The show kicked off with Mother Sally dancing down the stairs and towards the stage with a troupe of dancers. This act was followed by fire breathers, stilt walkers, and a fabulous MC who kept the energy up between acts with singing and crowd participation. Guests were regularly invited to the dance floor and agents took full advantage, enjoying the live entertainment. Halfway through the show, guests could enjoy a buffet of Cajun-inspired dishes , with options like chicken, shrimp, fish, steak, salads, potatoes, rice and beans, macaroni pie, and more. For dessert there was a choice of brownies with ice cream or marshmallows to roast over an open fire. The night ended with agents dancing in the sand, truly getting to know the Bajan way of life. With just the journey home left on the schedule, day 4 brought the FAM to a close in the perfect manner, going from snorkelling shipwrecks to dancing in the sand. It was a day that captured the energy and fun that define Barbados. Heading Home The return journey to Ireland is operated by Aer Lingus , whose updated connection process through Manchester Airport has significantly improved the overall travel experience for passengers flying between Dublin and Barbados. Previously, travellers making this connection were required to exit the terminal upon arrival in Manchester, clear UK border control, and re-check their baggage before proceeding to their connecting flight. Now, thanks to the introduction of a seamless airside transfer process , passengers arriving from Barbados can remain within the secure side of the terminal. After landing, they are directed straight through the airport’s dedicated transfer corridor , with no need to reclaim baggage or re-check in. Hold luggage is automatically transferred through to the final destination, and all formalities are handled behind the scenes, letting passengers move comfortably through to their Dublin-bound flight. This development is a major improvement in the Barbados-Ireland journey and reflects Aer Lingus’ continued commitment to offering efficient, customer-focused service on its long-haul network. With this streamlined process now in place, Barbados is not only closer in kilometres, but far more accessible for Irish travellers. ITTN’s Julia Labedz would like to thank BTMI , Aer Lingus , and TTR for putting together such an incredible and informative trip. The group is leaving with not only a deeper understanding of the properties on the island, but a real sense of its top attractions, people, spirit and what makes it such a special place to sell.

  • Barbados FAM Continues with a Bajan Bus Island Tour & More

ITTN’s Julia Labedz is in Barbados this week on a FAM trip hosted by Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI), Aer Lingus and Travel Trade Representation (TTR). After two packed days of hotel inspections across the island’s west and south coasts, day 3 offered a change of pace, with a focus on local culture, scenery, and the opportunity to experience a more relaxed side of the island. The day began with check-out from the Wyndham Grand Barbados, Sam Lord’s Castle Resort & Spa , the group’s base for the first half of the trip. Located on the island’s quiet southeastern coast, the Wyndham was a very comfortable home during a busy schedule of  Early in the morning, the group met their tour guide Chris and set off on an open-top Bajan bus tour by #1 Bajan Bus , a traditional and highly entertaining way to experience the island from a different perspective. Music was playing, rum punch flowing, and the Atlantic breeze was in full effect! The route covered a remarkable portion of the island, beginning with a stop at Hidden Bay Beach, where the group descended just 68 steps to take in a stunning view framed by coconut trees, cliffs, and clear blue water. From there, the tour continued to Ragged Point Lighthouse, located on the island’s easternmost tip, before heading through countryside roads and stopping at a freshwater spring as the group travelled from the parish of St Philip into St John. In St John, the focus shifted toward history. The group visited Codrington College, whose construction began in 1714 and was completed in 1743, making it one of the oldest theological colleges in the Western Hemisphere. Nearby was St John’s Parish Church which the group got to go into, followed by drive-bys of Clifton Hall Plantation and Peg Farm, giving the agents a look into the Bajan countryside.  As the tour continued into St Joseph, the landscape became noticeably more hilly, with inland views. Along the way, the group passed the former St Joseph Parish Church, now abandoned due to structural damage caused by frequent landslides, as well as the Cotton Tower Signal Station. The route also took in an area locally known as “Grapefruit City”, where there are loads of grapefruit trees lining the roadside. One of the most stunning coastal stops was at Bathsheba Beach, where Atlantic waves crash against rock formations, and the remains of the island’s historic railway lie partially reclaimed by the sea. The journey continued through Cattlewash, once used to bring cattle down to the shore to be washed, before following the east coast road with uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean. A short break at Barclays Park had the group sunbathing on the grass while enjoying a refreshment of rum punch before continuing north. Leaving the parish of St Andrew and heading into St Peter, the group experienced the island’s famous magnetic hill, watching the bus appear to roll uphill on its own. Further highlights included passing through St Nicholas Parish, the oldest on the island, and stopping at Cherry Tree Hill, where the group got to enjoy a panoramic view across Barbados, with the St Nicholas Abbey railway visible as it was manually turned around by a few tourists and prepared for its return journey. The tour then continued through St Evan’s Parish (also known as Diamond Corner), into St Lucy, the most modern parish on the island, and onward through St Thomas before finishing with a final stop at the hidden Little Bay, where large Atlantic waves put on a pretty good show. Throughout the tour, Chris shared insights that brought the island’s character to life, including the fact that Barbados is home to approximately 290,000 people and 365 churches, one for each day of the year, and that wherever there is a parish, there is almost always a rum shop close by – a statement that the group has yet to disprove. The atmosphere remained fabulous throughout, with plenty of laughs, photos, and genuine excitement as the group took in the island. By midday, the tour paused for lunch at The Thirsty Lizard, a local eatery where the group had time to refuel, cool off, and chat about the morning’s highlights (of which there were many!). The group started with fish cake, then some classic Caribbean bites, spicy chicken, fish, pigtail – the options were endless, and whatever agents ordered was shared around. Even the local cat got to try his own share… All too soon it was time to leave Chris and the beautiful Bajan Bus and head to the second host hotel of the trip – the O2 Beach Club & Spa , a five-star, all-inclusive property located on Dover Beach on the south coast. Freshly renovated, with the newest section opening at the end of 2021 , the hotel is super polished and very atmospheric from the get go. While not an adults-only property, O2 offers adults-only areas for guests aged 16+ , allowing for a balance of family-friendly flexibility and quieter spaces. After check-in, the group toured the property with Rotchelle Parris , who showcased the resort’s standout facilities, including the rooftop tapas restaurant , its rooftop pool , multiple dining options, grab-and-go snack stations, and the island’s only hammam , located within the award-winning Acqua Spa. During the tour, the group viewed a Luxury Oceanfront Suite , while Julia checked into a Luxury Oceanfront One-Bedroom Suite with a kitchenette. The suite features an exceptionally comfortable bed and a bright, spacious living area filled with colour and natural light. The balcony directly faces the beach , with uninterrupted views of palms, waves, and the shoreline. O2 offers a range of added-value perks as well. Guests staying a minimum of three nights in a Luxury One- or Two-Bedroom Suite receive a US$100 spa credit , while those booked in One- or Two-Bedroom Concierge Suites receive US$125 credit . The resort also provides complimentary checkout facilities , allowing guests to freshen up and enjoy the property even after vacating their room – a thoughtful touch, especially for evening flights. Dining is a major highlight at O2, particularly Oro , the signature fine dining restaurant included as part of the all-inclusive offering. Oro features a Caribbean-fusion menu and rooftop views of the coastline. Drinks are included, with the option to enhance the experience through specialty wines at an added supplement. After settling in, the group took some time to enjoy the beach, where the water was wonderfully warm, followed by evening entertainment back at the resort, including steel pan music and fresh coconuts being opened on the spot, with the option to add a splash of rum. The day concluded with dinner at Oro with Rotchelle Parris , where the group gathered in the lobby before heading upstairs for a delicious evening – Julia enjoyed snow crab cakes as a starter, duck in thai red curry sauce for lunch and a gorgeously fruity pavlova for dessert. This was an absolutely incredible way to end the day which, generally speaking, the group wished would never end… Overall, day three served everything Bajan and more – ITTN’s Julia Labedz extends continued thanks to BTMI, TTR and Aer Lingus for another fabulously curated day in the Caribbean.

  • ITTN Continues Exploring Barbados with South Coast Site Visits

ITTN’s Julia Labedz is in Barbados on a FAM trip hosted by Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI), Travel Trade Representation (TTR) and Aer Lingus. The week-long visit, which includes both Irish and UK agents, is designed to give travel agents a deeper understanding of the island’s tourism offering, ranging from luxury resorts to family-friendly beachfront properties. Following a full day exploring the west coast, day two shifted focus to Barbados’ lively south coast. The group departed early from the Wyndham Grand Barbados, Sam Lord’s Castle Resort & Spa, which has been home for the first half of the trip. This was the second night the group spent at the hotel, and by this point, the comfort of the resort was fully appreciated. Mornings felt absolutely fabulous with the open, breezy lobby and delicious buffet breakfast serving up some Bajan classics like fish fingers. The Wyndham worked perfectly as the base for the trip, giving agents exactly what they needed between busy days of hotel inspections. Right after a hearty breakfast with a generous helping of prosecco for some, it was time to visit the first hotel on Tuesday’s agenda – the Hilton Barbados Resort , introduced by Marc McCollin. Situated on the Needham’s Point peninsula near Bridgetown, the hotel stands out for its large, conference-ready layout, beach access on two sides, and stunning sea views. The property features 342 rooms , many offering exceptional views. The group viewed both a spacious King Bay View Room as well as an Ocean View Room , both modern in design and with private balconies that the hotel is known for. The Hilton’s facilities are extensive, supported by its position as the second-largest conference space on the island , making it a strong option for meetings, incentives, and corporate groups. Alongside leisure travellers, the property confidently caters to large events without losing its resort feel. The dining offering is particularly strong. Hilton Barbados features multiple restaurants , including its signature fine-dining venue, The Grill , notably the only restaurant on property requiring reservations . The resort also makes its own pasta onsite , which is pretty enticing for the foodies. Guests have access to a pool bar and beach bar , both with poolside service , and there is also a lobby coffee shop for grab-and-go convenience. Rum tastings are available as well, and who could say no to that? For families, while the hotel does not have a formal kids’ club , it does offer a range of kids’ activities , making it suitable for families. The historic Charles Fort , located onsite, adds further interest, giving guests direct access to one of the island’s key heritage points. The combination of location, scale, facilities, and thoughtful amenities positions Hilton Barbados as a solid option for both corporate and leisure markets, with strong appeal for guests looking for convenience, beachfront access, and a full-service experience on the south coast. Next on the schedule was Savannah Beach Hotel , where the group was greeted by Shakeira Best. This beachfront, all-inclusive resort is located within a restored 19th-century plantation house. The architecture mixes colonial and Caribbean styles, with original details like shuttered windows and wraparound verandas. Architecture throughout the property mixes colonial styling with tropical elements, and while the room designs lean firmly into this traditional aesthetic, it is precisely what makes them so appealing. The rooms feel characterful and authentic, complementing the resort’s historic roots rather than competing with them. Families are particularly well catered for, with a kids’ club operating from 10am to 6pm . Outdoor spaces are a major highlight, including a stunning lazy river , water features throughout the resort , and a beautiful beachfront that provides plenty of space to relax or unwind by the sea. At the heart of the property sits a lagoon-style pool surrounded by palm trees and sun loungers, creating a great gathering point that the group were very tempted to make full use of. With its character, Savannah Beach Hotel is especially appealing for travellers looking for something a little different from the standard resort experience. At Coconut Court Beach Hotel , the group was welcomed by Laurence Lampkin for a tour of this well-established, family-owned property. Operated by the Blades family for several generations, the hotel has earned a strong reputation for its welcoming service.  The hotel is particularly well suited to families and solo travellers , with 24/7 security and on-hand assistance offering peace of mind, as well as a friendly, community-style atmosphere that makes guests feel at home. Accommodation is spread across three room categories , with all rooms facing the ocean: Partial Ocean View, Superior Rooms, and Deluxe Rooms , each with balconies and some sea-facing outlooks. A thoughtful guest-focused touch is the provision of a complimentary checkout room , allowing guests with later departures to freshen up, shower, and store luggage after officially checking out – a small but highly appreciated detail, especially for long-haul travellers. Evenings at Coconut Court are when the resort comes to life, with themed nights held on the pool deck , featuring live music and local craft markets . The hotel also hosts movies on the beach . Its location, just a short walk from the UNESCO-listed Garrison Historic Area and the South Coast Boardwalk, means guests have easy access to cultural landmarks, shops, and dining. Coconut Court stands out as a value-driven option that delivers an authentic Bajan experience! From there, the group moved on to Sugar Bay Barbados , where they were hosted by Tracy Harris for both a property tour and lunch. This independently owned, four-star all-inclusive resort feels very fresh thanks to the bright and colourful interiors, accented by local artwork and stylish Caribbean touches. During the tour, the group viewed a range of accommodation types, including an Ocean Front Family Suite and a Penthouse , both offering generous space and excellent ocean views, ideal for families or guests looking for a higher-end room option. The public areas also impressed, particularly the resort’s standout lagoon-style pool , which meanders through the centre of the property and is surrounded by tropical gardens and sun loungers. Sugar Bay has a strong lifestyle and dining mix, with four restaurants and five bars , giving guests plenty of choice throughout their stay. The resort is particularly family-friendly, offering nursery care from as young as four months old at no additional charge , along with a game room that caters to both teens and adults. Located directly on a quieter stretch of beach, Sugar Bay is conveniently close to Bridgetown and the South Coast Boardwalk. Guests can also enjoy complimentary kayaking and paddle boarding . The resort places a strong emphasis on service, which was evident throughout the visit. Lunch was at the buffet-style Reef restaurant, and gave the group a chance to experience the food firsthand. Julia enjoyed fresh spaghetti with mussels with a fabulous sea view. It was a refreshing midday stop and a clear reminder of how well Sugar Bay delivers comfort, style, and value all in one! In the afternoon, the group visited The Sands Barbados , where they were met by Nikolai for a tour of this all-inclusive resort. Located directly on Worthing Beach, The Sands is a minimalist resort that contrasts with some of the island’s more traditional properties. The aesthetic is very bright and uncluttered, with white accents and pops of colour throughout the guest rooms and public areas. The location is a major plus, right in the centre of the south coast, within walking distance of local shops, bars, and restaurants, and just a short drive from Bridgetown. The resort operates on an all-inclusive basis , with two restaurants and bars available to guests throughout their stay. Highlights include Restaurant Noir , which offers a particularly gorgeous beachfront view , making it a standout spot for dining, especially in the evenings. During the tour, the group viewed a selection of accommodation options, including three-bedroom suites and two-bedroom family ocean-view suites , both offering excellent space for families and small groups. Rooms are notably bright, well designed, and well maintained , with strong air conditioning throughout, an important consideration in the Caribbean climate. All suites are equipped with kitchens , adding flexibility for longer stays or guests who appreciate additional self-catering options. Entertainment plays an active role at The Sands, with nightly activities ranging from volleyball to cricket . Combined with direct beach access, fabulous accommodation, and a convenient location, The Sands Barbados is well suited to couples, families, and groups looking for an easygoing, stylish stay on the south coast. The final stop of the day brought the group to Bougainvillea Barbados , with Sabrina leading the tour.  Located on a quieter stretch of the south coast, the resort immediately stood out thanks to its very tropical grounds alongside plunge pools and waterfalls cascading down from the lobby into the pool area by the sea. True to its name, bougainvillea blooms framed the walkways and added tons of colour throughout the property. The group viewed several accommodation categories,  like the ground-floor rooms that feature private plunge pools with waterfall features . A Junior Suite with kitchenette was also viewed, which is a flexible option for couples or longer stays. For guests looking for more space and independence, the Deluxe One-Bedroom Suites come with a fully equipped kitchen . Even though we visited during high season, the resort had a wonderful feel about it – full-service without ever feeling crowded, making it a strong choice for families or couples who like a little more space and flexibility. After a short break back at the hotel to recharge, the group headed out for dinner at Champers Restaurant . Located on a cliffside with views over the south coast, Champers is one of Barbados’ most well-regarded dining spots, known for its Caribbean-influenced cuisine.  The menu showcased fresh, locally sourced ingredients, with beautifully plated dishes and great service throughout. Julia enjoyed vegetable spring rolls to start and pan-seared chicken linguine as a main. It was the perfect way to wrap up the second day on the island, great food with great company! With such a wide range of properties visited, the day gave agents a fantastic overview of the south coast’s appeal. ITTN’s Julia Labedz extends warm thanks to BTMI, TTR and Aer Lingus for another expertly organised day of discovery in Barbados! Stay tuned for more on ittn.ie and our social media channels!

ITTN’s Julia Labedz is in Barbados on a FAM trip with Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI), Travel Trade Representation (TTR) and Aer Lingus, accompanying a group of Irish & UK travel agents on a destination showcase aimed at promoting the island and supporting Aer Lingus’ direct service from Manchester to Barbados. The group arrived late Sunday night and checked in at the all-inclusive Wyndham Grand Barbados, Sam Lord’s Castle Resort & Spa , before heading for a buffet-style welcome dinner. They enjoyed a variety of items from the buffet, including loaded jacket potatoes, sushi & pasta (though not all mixed together…). Desserts were absolutely standout here with a very warm apple crumble complete with some fresh fruit. This was an absolutely delightful meal especially after such a long day of travel. As for the host hotel itself, the Wyndham Grand Barbados is located right along the island’s southeastern coast, and from the moment the group arrived, it was clear why it was chosen as the groups’ base for this half of the trip.  The Wyndham is the largest hotel on the island, with a spacious layout made up of multiple accommodation blocks, each with its own swimming pool. Despite its size, the resort feels bright and open with a design that allows wind and light to travel naturally throughout. Opened in 2023, the property has a new and contemporary feel, something that’s clear to see in both the architecture and interiors. The entrance to the hotel really shapes the arrival – a huge, bright and open space with a tall ceiling that looks out in the direction of the sea. This side of Barbados is quite windy, which means this space cleverly turns into something like a wind tunnel, channelling a warm sea breeze straight through the lobby, which was quite a refreshing welcome after the long journey. Check-in was handled efficiently and with genuine warmth, with staff quickly getting the group settled into their rooms. Julia got placed in a Deluxe King Room on the second floor, which immediately impressed her with its generous proportions. The room is exceptionally spacious, featuring a large, comfortable king-sized bed with a good selection of pillows. A balcony looks out over the hotel pool and towards the sea, providing a relaxing spot to unwind. Behind the bed, a subtle separation creates a functional area with a mini bar and a dedicated work desk, adding a practical touch. The bathroom is equally impressive in scale, with both a full-sized bath and a rainfall shower, along with excellent sink and vanity space, particularly good for guests who like to overpack (guilty!). The room is fully equipped with all expected amenities, including a kettle, hairdryer and iron. The accommodation is immaculately clean, quiet and very comfortable, with great air conditioning helping the group get a restful night’s sleep. As the groups’ host property, Wyndham Grand Barbados delivers a strong first impression, with the group collectively looking forward to getting to know the resort over the next few nights. Site Inspections The first full day of the FAM began with an early departure for the island’s Platinum (West) Coast. First on the agenda was a site inspection of Waves Hotel & Spa by Elegant Hotels , where the group was welcomed by Ryan Rayside. This oceanfront boutique property made an immediate impression with its strong wellness-led identity and design. Wellness is firmly at the core of the Waves experience. Guests can take part in complimentary Pilates and yoga sessions, with yoga mats provided in every room, allowing guests to continue their practice in private. The spa offering is thoughtfully integrated into the stay, with guests booking five nights or more in an Ocean View category receiving three complimentary spa vouchers per adult, while standard room bookings include two spa vouchers per adult. Accommodation highlights include the Ocean View Junior Suites, which combine open-plan living with sea views, as well as Spa Pool View Rooms, located near the spa facilities. The spa and a secondary pool are situated across the street from the main hotel, creating a quieter, more secluded wellness zone. While wellness is a key focus, the property is also family-friendly, accommodating children and teenagers under 17 years of age, making it suitable for family stays. Sustainability is also placed on focus all throughout the resort, with recyclable artwork and natural wood accents. Waves Hotel & Spa is a fantastic option on Barbados’ Platinum Coast, particularly well suited to guests looking for a mix of wellness, luxury and comfort.  Next was All Seasons Resort , presented by Soni Kessuram. Located in the centre of Holetown on the west coast, this is a laid-back property which caters well to both independent travellers and families looking for flexibility and value. The resort has spacious one-bedroom suites with kitchenettes, making it ideal for self-catering holidays. The resort itself is surrounded by gardens, and has a large swimming pool, an on-site bar and restaurant as well as easy access to nearby beaches, shops, and local dining. It’s a practical choice for budget-conscious visitors who still want to be close to the island’s key attractions. At Mango Bay Hotel , the group met with Michelle Gibson for a guided tour of this compact, beachfront all-inclusive property also located in the centre of Holetown. With just 76 rooms, the hotel means guests can enjoy an intimate and friendly stay, emphasising personalised service and attention to detail. This hotel is in a really prime location which allows guests to step directly onto the beach or walk to nearby shops, bars, and restaurants along the west coast. The property’s gym facilities stood out as particularly strong – the room was well-equipped and perfect for guests looking to maintain their fitness routines while on holiday. While spa treatments are not included, spa services are available on the property. The property also includes a beachfront restaurant, swimming pool, spa services, and water sports activities (it’s worth noting that 15 minutes of water skiing is provided complimentary by the hotel per guest, per stay), which makes it a convenient option for those who are looking for a stress-free stay with everything on hand.  Due to high occupancy, guest rooms were unavailable to view during the visit – an objectively good complaint. Overall, Mango Bay is a reliable, family-friendly option on the Platinum Coast, especially well-suited for couples, small groups, and those looking to mix and mash relaxation with easy access to local culture and shopping. The fourth stop was the Fairmont Royal Pavilion , where the group was welcomed by Tonisha Niles. This long-established luxury property stood out for many – it had a fabulous beachfront and unique classic colonial style. As an added plus, every room faces the ocean, so guests can enjoy uninterrupted sea views. This is a truly luxurious resort, set on what is arguably one of the most beautiful stretches of sandy beach seen during the visit. The beachfront itself is the defining feature – pristine, and exceptionally picturesque, delivering the classic tropical postcard scene that anyone visiting Barbados wants.  The overall atmosphere of the property is lush and tropical, with excellent landscaping and design. Although the hotel was operating at full occupancy, meaning guest rooms were unavailable to view, it was clear from shared spaces and public areas that the accommodation is of an exceptionally high standard.  The resort itself is surrounded by tropical gardens, making for a very quiet and exclusive space with excellent dining options, friendly service and plenty of space to unwind. It’s particularly well-suited for couples or those looking for a more private, high-end stay on the island’s Platinum Coast. Next up was a stop for food – lunch was hosted at the Sea Shed Restaurant , a beachfront venue on the west coast that has become a favourite for both locals and visitors. Sea Shed focuses on fresh, locally sourced ingredients with a strong emphasis on seafood. Julia went for a delicious meal of crispy calamari followed by a chicken sandwich. The group enjoyed fuelling up for the rest of the day and everyone left the table satisfied – not only with the food, but also with the fabulous view of the sea just steps away.  The afternoon resumed with a site visit to The Crane Resort , where the group was hosted by Karen Oliver. Located on a cliffside on Barbados’ southeast coast, The Crane is one of the oldest continuously operating hotels in the Caribbean, dating back to 1887. The property has kept much of its history while expanding into a modern resort village, complete with spacious residential-style suites and gardens.  Thanks to its cliffside position, the resort overlooks Crane Beach, often cited as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.  The group toured a variety of accommodations here, from suites with private pools to classic rooms featuring original architectural details. Among the standout rooms was the 3 bedroom suite with a private pool located within a tower on the balcony alongside an upper floor with an outside bathtub overlooking the sea. Onsite amenities include multiple restaurants, a spa, fitness centre, retail village, and several pools, making The Crane a self-contained destination ideal for longer stays, families, and couples.  After a short break allowing the agents to refresh, it was time for dinner which was hosted at Zen Restaurant , located within The Crane Resort and known for its authentic Japanese and Thai cuisine. The restaurant is absolutely stunning with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean, and the group was lucky enough to be able to dine in a private, Japanese-style room. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious – a real highlight of the day. The group enjoyed a selection of dishes including Tom Kha soup and a very rich green curry – all packed with flavour. Karen Oliver also rejoined the group for the evening, sharing more about the resort’s history and answering questions over dinner. It was a lovely way to wrap up a busy and informative first day. ITTN’s Julia Labedz would like to thank BTMI, TTR and Aer Lingus for organising such a rewarding start to the week! Stay tuned for more on Barbados on ittn.ie and through our social media channels.

  • Jamaica FAM Trip Rolls on to Montego Bay

On the Virgin Atlantic fam trip to Jamaica that took place last week, it was the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort and Spa that hosted the group for its first two nights on arrival to the tropical Caribbean island, while JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar hosted the group for their final two nights! Both hotels offer something unique and different for holidaymakers in Jamaica, and the fam trip was excited to learn more about each hotel with in-depth tours. ITTN’s Katie joins Travel Counsellor Claire Maher, Kaytlyn Fitzharris of Barter’s Travel Net, Alison Clark from Club Travel, Kat Tryjankowska from Tropical Sky, Louise Kenna of Cassidy Travel’s Dundrum branch, Edel Ward from Best4Travel and Joanne Gomez from Travel Focus. The Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort & Spa Having arrived in the late evening into the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton, on the second night of the trip the group had a chance to enjoy a delicious meal on resort, in the Japanese restaurant Sumptori that hosts teppanyaki and a-la-carte dining. The group feasted on a selection of hot starters, sushi platters and teriyaki noddle and rice dishes for mains. This was the perfect introduction to the resort, giving the group time to enjoy the live performances of violinists and karaoke before and after dinner. The following morning, on Day Three, it was time to go and explore all that the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton all-inclusive resort has to offer. The group was led by an attentive sales representative around the resort and Jo Peters, their very own Sales Manager for the Palladium Hotel Group who’s based in England. Located in Lucea, on the northwestern edge of Jamaica, the Lady Hamilton is a unique destination for all types of travellers- from families, to couples, friend groups and beyond. The complex is made up of grand, colonial-style buildings painted in subtle pastel tones. The grand white pillars and marble floors lend themselves to a Roman style of architecture while rooms across the property are spacious and elegant. There are 11 restaurants on the property, seven are a-la-carte while the other four offer international food with themed self-service buffets and show cooking. Alongside this, there are 11 unique themed bars, including swim-up bars, beach bars, lobby and waiting bars, sports and lounge bars, too!  With over a thousand holidaymakers accommodated in the resort, its design is so vast that the busyness of the hotel is balanced across locations. The private beach is just a few minutes’ walk from the main piazza, while its wrap-around infinity pool with swim-up bar is the largest on the island. Guests can stay active with a state-of-the-art gym, tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts, soccer field, and archery range. A diverse all-day activities and entertainment program features yoga and Zumba classes, craft demonstrations, catamaran rides, deep-sea fishing excursions, windsurfing lessons, scuba diving courses, and much more. Kids are treated like VIPs with special clubs tailored to three different age groups and fun amenities like a water park, mini disco, and decked-out game room.  The adults only oasis Zentropía Spa at the Lady Hamilton is one of their biggest attractions for holidaymakers, where they can get pampered with indulgent treatments and chill out in hydrotherapy baths, sauna and steam room! There are a variety of room options at the Grand Palldium including Junior Garden Suites (230), Ocean Views (27) or Beachside (27). There are 40 suites with Garden View and 8 with Ocean View, 6 Suites Beachside and two more beachside and with panoramic views. The group was lucky enough to be upgraded to the Signature Level, which come in a variety of bungalows, junior suites and suites that total 156 on the property. There are adults-only bungalows (48 available) with tropical surroundings and ocean-views. The Signature Level at the resorts offers a selection of exclusive benefits designed to elevate traveller’s all-inclusive experience and provides an extra spot of luxury on an already luxurious resort! JOIA at Rose Hall Iberostar Located in Montego Bay, JOIA hosted the group on the third and fourth night of the fam trip, and they were lucky enough to have Sales Representative Crystal to give them an in-depth look at the hotel. The Rose Hall Iberostar Montego Bay is divided into three categories- Waves is the perfect family experience with kids pools and clubs, shared with Selection- the second category of the resort- that offers a more refined experience. JOIA is the hotel’s third section which offers adult-only experiences to guests. The beachfront complex offers an all-inclusive experience in Jamaica’s natural paradise. Guests can go scuba diving while little ones will have a blast playing at the waterpark Aquafun, floating in the lazy river, or enjoying the awesome Star Camp activities. Guests can be treated to a hydrotherapy circuit at one of the best spas in the Caribbean. Each hotel has a range of buffet options for breakfast lunch and dinner and hosts five a-la-carte restaurants with a variety of international cuisine and Italian, Japanese, Greek and Jamaican dining. The rooms at the property vary from hotel to hotel. In Waves, rooms are designed around accessibility and price is only differentiated by the view- with customers having the option to choose beachfront or sea views depending on their preferences. Importantly, adjoining rooms are booked as part of family rooms, so agents don’t have to worry about rooms not being beside each other when booking for their clients. There is slightly more variety in Selection, which also hosts Junior Suites and Family Suites, all featuring standard amenities like air conditioning, balconies, flat-screen TVs, free WiFi, and daily stocked mini-bars. Some rooms have sea views, and specific options like the Family Junior Suite include a second bedroom with two double beds, a separate tub and shower, and a gaming console. The adult-only JOIA option at Rose Hall Iberostar offers swim-up suites and the Presidential Suite, Ocean Front Penthouse Suite with Butler, Ocean Front Butler Suite, Pool View Suite, and Tropical View Suite! On the final night of the trip, agents and the group’s journalist joined a fantastic Silent Disco just a few minutes from their JOIA rooms in the Selection part of the hotel. While on the final day of the trip, they were able to chill out and enjoy this beachfront property, enjoying lobster at the Beach Grill while others offered for buffet options!
